Welcome to A Week with us….A weekly update and insight to a week in the lives of our family of 7.
This week has once again been mega busy!
The weather has been amazing! Looks like we are getting a Summer after all.
PIN ME FOR LATER
We have had both Mckenzie and Caelan’s Sports Days. Unfortunately their primary school has a strict No Photograph policy, so I was unable to take any photos. Which is a shame. But the school do provide a photo of your child. But it’s not the same. I was hoping for pictures of them during the events and crossing the finish lines.
However, I did get photos of Cohen and our mindees watching sports day and having fun rolling down the hill in the school field! I love seeing their faces light up at such simple activities.
Cameron had 2 school trips this week.
One was to a University day. Cameron takes part in a lot of these days as he is on his school Gifted and Talented register.
The other was a GCSE History trip to Leeds, about medicine and history.
Harvey had an appointment at the orthodontist about his braces. I was really interesting to see his x-rays as Harvey has a huge overhang. He needs some dental work to pull his top teeth and move his bottom teeth forward. Then have his teeth straightened. In all, it’s going to take 24-30 months. I’m sure it will be worth it.
On Friday, we had a very quiet day childminding so we took Cohen and our mindees to a park for a picnic and a run about. As much as I love the heat, I am really conscious of keeping the kiddies in my care out in the sun for too long.
Cohen and I went to visit my Mum’s grave. I have to admit, it’s not something I do very often. I was in the area, so it would be rude not to.
We’ve had a fairly quiet weekend.
On Saturday we had another photoshoot for another newspaper story. My boys played up something rotten! Honestly, I could’ve rang their necks! Caelan and Cohen wouldn’t for love nor money do as their told. It was so hot and clammy. I was in full hair and make up. As soon as the photographer left I was straight back into my comfy clothes!
On the evening, Matthew and I let the boys stay up a little bit later. We all sat in the garden. Matthew and I had a cheeky few drinks. Which is something we never do at home. I was great to just relax and watch our boys play together.
Sunday is our shopping day. So first thing we went food shopping. We decided to have a spur of the moment Barbecue. Well, why not? We’ve got to make the most out of this weather, don’t we?
My Dad joined us. It was lovely to have all 7 of the men in my life, together. I’m sure my Mum would be looking down on me, laughing at the fact that i’m surrounded by boys and men! Hahaha!
The perfect way to end the week!
Thanks for reading and I hope you come back for another WEEK WITH US
