Does anyone else’s children search the cupboards for ingredients to make the latest slime concoction?
‘But Mum, all we need is PVA glue, contact lenses solution, glitter, food colouring and water’, 10 minutes later my kitchen table looks like there’s been an explosion of goo! And guess who is left to clean it all up?
Yup, you guessed it, me.
Don’t get me wrong, I love slime and I really love the making of the slime, but the mess it just…meh!
We were asked to review So Slime DIY Colour Changing Slime. My boys were overjoyed. I was intrigued.
We received a 3 pack of So Slime DIY Colour-Change Slime Shakers. They are suitable for children age 6 and over.
Inside each Slime DIY Tub is a sachet of slime powder, some glitter, instructions and a secret surprise!
Literally, this was the easiest Slime recipe ever!
Basically, you pour in the sachet of slime powder, some glitter and secret surprise into the tub. Fill the tub up to the fill line with water and shake!
Shake, Shake, Shake!
Note to self, make sure the lid is on the tub and that you don’t over fill the tub. Otherwise you’re going to have a soggy mess.
After shaking for the recommended 30 seconds, leave the slime ‘formula’ to solidify.
And voila! You have So Slime DIY!
I have to say, as a parent i was pretty impressed with how easy it was to be able to sit back and watch my boys make this themselves while I watched over them.
The So Slime DIY is pretty stretchy and comes together really well. I felt that the colours could be more vibrant. But this doesn’t ruin the effect at all.
I love that the tub can be used for storage and maintaining the slime. No more finding slime down the back of the couch.
Overall I think So Slime DIY is a brilliant way for kids to get creative. It would certainly benefit children as a sensory toy too.
