Looking Back On 2018

Oh, my days! Where did 2018 go? It’s that time of year once again where we reflect and reminisce. Looking back on 2018.

I can honestly say, 2018 wasn’t a bad year for myself and my family. I say that very carefully, touching wood, crossing fingers etc. In order not to jinx us! Because if you know me, you will know  that my past hasn’t been kind.

There is always some unwanted drama that follows me. But i’m a great believer in ‘everything happens for a reason and that our experiences good and bad are here to teach and prepare us for something’.

So here is a Look Back On 2018

Rebuilding Relationships With Family

This has got to have been the highlight of our year. Matthew getting back in contact with his Daughter after 9 (long) years, as well as his sister. My boys got to meet their sister and I got to meet my gorgeous step daughter.

Launching This Mummy Rocks

In April 2018, I launched This Mummy Rocks. It has been one of the best things I have done. It has connected me with some truly amazing, inspirational and like minded people. It has opened doors of opportunity for not only myself, but my family and those people I have gave assistance to through my blog. In a short 8 months I had the opportunity to work with a number of awesome brands, reached the top 500 in the Tots100 charts and my DA got to 27! I’m more than happy with that.

Being Featured In Not 1 But 2 National Newspapers

My family and myself where given the opportunity to work with both The Daily Mail and The Sun on articles relating to larger families and families outnumbered by the opposite sex. Having photographers and make up artists come to the house for photoshoots was out of this world. Especially when one of the make up artists tells you that she’s work on Paris and London Paris week with the likes of Gigi and Bella Hadid.

Going To See Ed Sheeran With Matthew

Matthew and I don’t get much time together alone, without our boys being around. But we managed to have an epic ‘Mummy and Daddy Date Night’ to see Ed Sheeran in Newcastle.

Cohen Spending 5 Days In Hospital

Over the Summer, Cohen spent 5 days in hospital. giving us the scare of our lives! I can honestly say that I have never been so scared in all my life!

2018 The Year I Officially Had 2 Teenagers

Harvey turned 13! Honestly, it doesn’t seem like yesterday he was my little 7lb 10oz baby boy!

Cameron Turned 16

Now i’m feeling old! My eldest son turned 16 years old! Yes, 16!

Can’t believe this kid of mine is 16! My handsome eldest son, Cameron Reece! I don’t think you will ever realise how proud I am of you! My perfect 7lb 1oz baby boy. You gave me a reason to live when I was going through one of the darkest times in my life when I unexpectedly fell pregnant with you! I believe everything happens for a reason and you were my reason to fight and get better. You have grown into a level headed young man who knows what you want for yourself. You know that I will stand by your decisions and I’ll be there to guide and catch you if you need me. You aren’t scared to stand alone and don’t follow the crowd. You don’t care if your interests are different from your friends. Which is something I always struggled with. I admire that in you! You are an amazing big brother to your 4 younger brothers. You always have time for them. You are polite, confident but very quiet. You’re a true young gentleman-with the odd bit attitude 😂 When I fell pregnant with you at 17, I was told by some people very close to me that I had ruined my life and I was told that I don’t deserve to and shouldn’t be a mum repeatedly. That has stuck in my head over the last 16 years and as you know it drives me to prove those people wrong! Which I think I have succeeded in doing. Not to blow my own trumpet at all but I’ve come a long way in 16 years! You have been by my side through it all. Together we have broken the stigma and expectations those people had for me. The stigma of a young mum. No wonder I was low in self esteem! 😂 You and your brothers are my reasons and purpose to do what I do. This is what parenting is all about! Raising your children to be level headed, independent, respectful grown ups. So far I’d say we’ve done bloody alright Son! Love you….don’t ever….forget! ❤️ #son #teamwork #mummysonteam #mumandson #mumandaongoals #childminder #childcareprovider #childminders #childmindersofinstagram #mblogger #pblogger #mumlife #momlife #earlyyearsenthusiasts #passionate #womensupportingwomen #mumssupportingmums #mumsofinstagram #mbloggers #parenting #motherhood #pbloggers #mommyblogger #mummyblogger #inspiration #empoweringwomen #motivational

2018 Is The Year I Learnt To Accept Myself

After years of hating myself, having low self esteem and confidence, blogging and vlogging has actually made me value myself and to accept myself for who I am. Now, believe me when I say that this is a massive step for me. When I am feeling brave enough, I will tell my story.

I am more than looking forward to 2019 and what it has got to offer.

I want to thank each and everyone of my readers and followers for your support over 2018.

All the best for 2019.

Claire xx
