Our Stay In A Deluxe Safari Tents At Ullswater Heights, Lake District

ullswater heights glamping village

With the Summer holidays fast approaching, we wanted to book ourselves some quality family time getaway. After driving through the Lake District on our way to Blackpool earlier in the year, we decided that we had to pay it a visit. The scenery is just breathtaking!

So we decided to find somewhere to stay in the Lake District. As I am partnered with Hoseasons through my travel agency Claire Rocks Independent Travel Agent, I found us a quirky, brand spanking new complex that had opened at the beginning of July 2019.

Usually, when we have a staycation in the UK we stay in a caravan or lodge. I can’t ‘do’ camping and neither can my boys. But this time I was intrigued by the Safari Tents at Ullswater Heights. Glamping seemed to spark some interest between us. Plus they were Dog-Friendly, so our Rocky could come along with us too.

Let’s live a little and try something new!

So, Ullswater Heights is where we booked up!

Well, I’ll be honest, I was a little nervous as to if we would enjoy glamping. But I really don’t know what I was worried about!

Our deluxe safari tent totally overestimated our expectations.

We had our own private hot tub on the balcony, wifi, flat-screen tv, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with waterfall shower.

With 3 bedrooms, our deluxe safari tent sleeps 8. With one double bedroom, a double bed in the cutest little cubby and 4 beds on the first floor. Yes, this tent had stairs to the first floor!

The decor was so homely. All wood and animal prints. With a log burner, which I can imagine would be amazing in the colder winter months. Oh, the thought of toasting marshmallows next to the fire. Magical!

When we arrived the site had only been open for 3 weeks, there was still some building and maintenance work taking place, but it did not spoil any part of our stay what so ever. The development was still in Phase one.

At Ullswater Heights, there was one restaurant/bar open on-site, which was super child and dog-friendly! Perfect for our larger than average family. Situated right next to a small play park and overlooking a small lake its the perfect setting for eating Alfresco. Plus the food was high quality and delicious. My boys who are the fussiest of eaters ate up all of their fish and chips.

Ullswater Heights is just a 10-minute drive from Pooley Bridge and Ullswater Lake and less than 30 minutes from Keswick. Even though Ullswater Heights is close to an industrial estate, it by no means spoils the experience or the breathtaking scenery of the Lake District.

From my understanding, Ullswater Heights has a lot more plans for expansion in 2020 and the future. I can’t wait to see what it entails.

We plan to go back in 2020.
