As a busy mummy, I bet that you’re always looking after everyone else. Making sure everyone else is ok. Being a mum is a very stressful and busy role to play! You, as a Mum make everyone’s lives easy and stress-free. Apart from your own. I can bet my bottom dollar that you forget to take the time out to care for yourself and make time for you!

As a mum you might work, be looking after kids, ferrying the kids too and from school and activities and home again. You look after the kids, finding ways to keep them entertained without breaking the bank. On top of keeping on top of the housework, food shopping, making sure your little darlings are fed and watered. With all of the meal prep and cooking. Then there’s the planning for Christmas, Birthdays and holidays. The annual chore of buying school uniforms and school equipment. The list is endless.

STOP! Now Is The Time To Make Time For YOU!
Mummy, i’m sorry but you can’t possibly pour from an empty cup. For you to be able to care for your family to the best of your ability, you need to take care of yourself. Make Time For You!
YOU are important and YOU matter!
I can imagine there are times when you feel overwhelmed, tired and generally stressed. Wishing that you had someone or something to take the burden from you.
If you feel like this, you need self care and to make time for you.
Take a breath, sit down with a cuppa and think of ways you can relax and make time for you.

Take a look at your daily routines and see where you can make time for you. It might be during an after school activity, before the kids wake up, when the kids are in bed. When ever is best for you.
Make it your time.
Here are suggestions of some self care activities that you could implement into your day depending on what time you have.

I can promise you that Mum guilt will try and rear it’s head, by making you feel guilty for making time for you. But, I can promise you that you are not being selfish. You are doing this so that you do not burn out and so you can be the best mum that you can be!
So, who is with me?
I would love to know if you have managed to make time for you and if you have given any of these a try!

Great post! Shower, stretching and Netflix are definitely my go tos. #anythinggoes
I’m HUGE on this. It’s so, so important! #AnythingGoes
I am known for taking a nap if I ever feel I need it. Sometimes people used to laugh but I responded with “How well do you function when you’re tired?” and they always sort of stuttered a bit at that. Naps for the win!
Love it Claire! I am totally guilty of neglecting myself and at the moment keep putting off having a shower because there’s so much other stuff to do. I vow, right now, that tomorrow morning I’m having a shower, even if I have to get up at 5am to do it! ?
A great reminder to take care of ourselves, thanks Claire. x
