Why Every Mum Should Start A Mum Blog?

I get asked so many questions about how to start a Mum Blog and can you make actually make money from it?

The most simple answer is Yes, you absolutely can make money from a Mum Blog and I truly believe that every Mum should and can start a Mum Blog.

Mum blogs are the perfect opportunity for any mum to start a side hustle, to find and use her passion to make a change and a difference by using her experiences, beliefs, values and voice to influence, help and support other mums.

I mean, come on we all know what it’s like.

Motherhood doesn’t come with a manual!

Sure, you can buy the parenting books from the book store but some things just aren’t in there. Plus ‘expert’ advice is a much part of the ‘should’ culture that contributes to the mental health of Mums alike. Mums want real advice and influence from real mums, just like you.

There’s never a one size fits all and the advice from the parenting books just might not fit with your values and beliefs. But you might have found a miracle way to get your baby to sleep, or get your toddler to eat their greens! Maybe how to get your child to listen to you or get your teenager to actually be motivated to do their homework without you having to prompt them. (I’m still working this one out!)

Find Yourself Again, Do Something For You!

Blogging is the perfect way to find yourself again. I know all too well that when you become a Mum you feel like your identity has been taken away, that you’re ‘just a mum’ and that it seems that your life’s purpose and passion has been taken over by motherhood.

Your Mum blog could become your little sanctuary, something just for you. A little project and a sense of achievement. It’s your little corner of the internet that you own, where you can speak your truth, tell your story and voice your opinions. Plus you can do it any time of day, it’s up to you. There’s no time constraints or expectations attached.

I truly believe that every Mum has something special to give. So why not start a Mum Blog and share it all?

Here’s my reason for starting a Mum Blog. It really needs updating but here it is … Why I Decided To Start Blogging.

Share Your Expertise and Experiences

Your Mum blog doesn’t even need to be about motherhood! It can be about anything you want it to be!

  • You could write a diary type blog sharing your everyday life and experiences.
  • Are you a Mum that loves to cook and has some awesome recipes you want to share?
  • Do you or your children have a disability that you feel needs awareness and understanding?
  • Do you have a hobby that you’re pretty good at and can share your expertise?
  • Are you the queen of thrift and know how to save money on absolutely everything?
  • Are you passionate about the planet and raise your family in an eco-friendly way?
  • Do you love fitness and want to help mums love their postpartum bodies?

Seriously, the possibilities are endless!

All of us Mums can bring that little bit of something different to the table.

Plus, there are plenty of opportunities to make blogging into a side hustle and make money. (More on that in a future post that I will link here)

I’m definitely glad I started my Mum Blog. It’s funny how I started it writing about one thing but quickly found that my readers much preferred me sharing ideas of things to do with children, which is fab. I love that too! #KCACOLS
